Circle of Love
How improving your ability to love enhances the world at large.
There’s an old saying, “Love makes the world go round.” Behind that is the concept of interconnection. In fact, the science of interconnectivity helps us understand not just how we’re all connected, but also how the magnetic fields generated by the sun and earth affect our collective health and behavior. Bridging science and spirituality, these so-called noetic sciences reveal a deeper understanding of our inner worlds, our shared reality, and the interconnection between all things.
When the earth’s magnetic field changes, so do we. And when large numbers of people on earth react to an event, the earth’s resonance changes too. Gregg Braden, a Templeton Prize Nominee, scientist, international educator, and renowned as a pioneer in the emerging paradigm based in science, social policy, and human potential, encourages us not to compartmentalize our world. Instead, we should recognize and embrace the fact that the magnetic fields of our planet are important parts of our lives.
Measuring the Field
The Global Coherence Monitoring System (GCMS) is the Global Coherence Initiative’s (GCI) attempt to measure the changes in the earth’s magnetic field. They do so from six diverse locations around the globe. GCI researchers hypothesize that when large numbers of humans respond to a global event with a common emotional feeling, the collective response can affect the information distributed in the earth’s field. Our love or fear can be felt not only by others, but by the very planet we live on. So we should ask ourselves: What are we feeding the field? Anger? Kindness? Jealousy? Love?
By improving our ability to love and demonstrate kindness, we’ll not only create positive benefits for others, but for Mother Earth too.
Improving Our Ability to Love
There’s no better time to improve our ability to love than February, which is Heart Awareness Month. The HeartMath Institute, an organization that provides solutions for activating the heart of humanity, has a number of tools that can help us improve mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being. One is the HeartMath Appreciation Tool. For instance, did you know that by invoking and sustaining sincere appreciation you connect deeply to your heart?
Five Seasons Medicine, which focuses on transformational healing, calls the heart meridian, “the emperor over all organs.” The heart system rules more than the heart—regulating the circulatory, blood, pericardium, small intestine, tongue, speech, triple burner, face, and even facial expressions.
Gregg Braden would point out that one of the reasons for the heart’s power is due to its unique connection to the brain. Research shows that the heart holds memories just as well as our brain. There’s information that lives in our hearts—and if we understand the roles the neurons play in our heart, then we can regulate what’s within us and how we react to the world around us.
Heart + Brain
Gregg Braden calls this Heart Brain. And he says we can consciously choose to harmonize the neurons in the heart and those in the brain, creating a simple potent system that gives us the ability to self-regulate our biology. Working together, these two organs create one single potent system. The emotion in the heart tells the brain what to release into the body. And we can consciously control that.
Prune Harris would agree. An energy expert, she believes the heart is the rhythm keeper of the entire body. If it’s racing, your chemistry changes. In fact, she says that the energy field of the heart is the most apparent energy field that leaps out of the ever-changing, multi-colored, swirling, intricate picture that is the human energy system.
Exercising Your Wellbeing
Ms. Harris also reminds us that you can be your own conductor of your heart; when you do that, you bring harmony to your entire being. One exercise you can do to improve your well-being is the Heart Loop, which works with two energy pathways that relate to the heart and the heart protector. By understanding your energy system and incorporating this knowledge into your daily life, you can use the power of your heart to choose vitality, authenticity, and ultimately, health.
